Spaceship Dreaming
We have another completed video! Hot off the press, here is Spaceship Dream, directed by Darren Stokes. Enjoy!
Very quick update
It's been a bit quiet on the news front lately, mainly because we've been so busy! Here's why:
- We've finished shooting Spaceship Dream. Darren has been busy sifting through the footage and has a rough edit in place.
- Post production for We Are The Human Race has been delayed due to a technical fault which stopped Becky from digitising the footage. Hopefully this will be resolved soon!
- Universal Screenplay - the album - is now available for purchase from all your favourite digital music retailers, as well as the Press Reset / I Am The Sun EP, which contains a bunch of wonderful remixes. There are more details over on the UJs site.
In other news, the Jackal Pack are planning to throw a sci-fi themed Christmas party on Sunday 5th December. More details will follow over the next week or so.
Intergalactic! Spaceship Dream Vid Part One...

An incredible shoot for album track Spaceship Dream took part in an old East London Peanut Factory last weekend, involving numerous alien ravers at a 'house party' as our intrepid Jackals belted out an intergalactic gig! The party went on all night, one of the weirdest - and best - sights we have ever seen!!
Huge thanks to host Reuben Williams, Nick who created some unbeleivably stellar costumes, Alice for her face painting skills, and all the attendant aliens from planets the galaxy over, hope you made it back through the star systems safely... Human Racing; Video No.3 begins shooting

(click the pic for more...)
The project continues to gallop, as the video for We Are The Human Race began shooting last week. Directed by Rebekka Bincliffe, a burgeoning cast and crew hit the streets to capture scenes for what has been described as a '1984 meets V for Vendetta' style short. The final part of the shoot is slated for next week before the final edit, can't wait to see it!
Here are some photos...check back soon when we get some words from the director.
Karmic aside : By coincidence, this week We Are The Human Race hit the No.1 spot on influential music site http://www.theindie.biz/indie_songs
Directors wanted!
Are you a budding young director/film-maker? Do you have a yen to put your creative stamp on a music video? Union Jackals are offering you the opportunity to submit your video treatments for the track Open Skies. Find out how.
I Am The Sun: Done!
An amazing weekend shooting the video for I Am The Sun was had by all, taking in the serenity of Bewl Waters, the haggard seaside grit of Hastings, the fresh dunes of Camber and the side-streets of old London Town.
John Scott took the tiller for a tale of finding your happy place, with only the aid of a fashioned cardboard box and his avid imagination, ably assisted by new recruit Tomer on cam, and the all-seeing eye Darren Stokes.
With eyes on the ever changing skies, we darted through the rains to - we hope - make a beautiful video for I Am The Sun, with big thanks to our actors and support team, we couldn't have done it without you!
Check back shortly for a preview, it'll melt your soul...
Press Reset preview
We can't let the cat out the bag just yet, but the least we can do is let it poke its furry face out to get a little fresh air.
Second video in pre-production!
Well, that's a lie: we actually have four videos in pre-production at last count, but I Am The Sun is at the top of the list, and is being directed by a new member of the Jackal Pack, Jonathan Scott.
The script is complete, just working on the shot list / storyboard, and shooting is booked in for June 19-20, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for sunny weather that weekend, please - we can't afford to hire lighting!
More updates as and when they're available!
Press Reset: shot!

We did it! Despite impending storms, irate park-keepers and over-enthusiastic security guards, we managed to complete all of the filming for Press Reset. Most of it was shot around Little Venice and in Carl's living room, with a few bits and pieces near London landmarks: Piccadily Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the millennium eye. Oh, and a couple of pubs, too.
Enormous thanks to eveyone who helped out on the day - crew, cast & extras. Superstars, all of you!
Press Reset: final production meeting

[Left to right: Stephen, Darren Stokes, Andy Bolding and Carl]
We met up for our final production meeting last night, managed to get loads covered. I think we're ready for Friday!
Can't believe this has come together so quickly; from concept to shooting in two weeks! Now we just have to pray that the rain holds off for long enough to do the outdoor scenes. Looking out the window right now and it doesn't look promising - pouring rain and thunder. Oh well.
Here's a little peek at the storyboard:
